Knoxville’s Smoky Mountain Quilt Studio was established in 2006 by Dave and Debbie. Debbie began the business with the purchase of a Gammill Statler Stitcher Long-Arm Machine and built a home-studio. With low prices, high quality work and quick completion times, the business grew. In December of 2008, they moved to their retail store on Kingston Pike in West Knoxville.
By using a portion of the retail store, Debbie has created a secondary and homey environment for quilters and quilt lovers alike. The walls are hung with quilts of all sizes for your enjoyment. The smell of perking coffee invites you to walk in and take in the sights and smells of a beautiful, yet homey combination of quilts and furniture.
While the studio is located in the rear of a retail store, we only see clients by appointment. Being a working studio requires us to control our time to be able to complete our orders on time. Thank you for your understanding.
Our vision is to be able to offer a variety of high quality yet affordable fabrics and machine-quilting services in a professional studio environment.
Being a family business, Debbie’s vision is rounded out by including her four children in the workings of her quilt store. All have grown up in the furniture store and having always been around quilts and learning to quilt at young ages, they now assist mom with her quilting business. Also involved are five grandchildren, so when you stop by, don’t be surprised to see the kids and grandkids at the store having lunch with grandma and grandpa!
Having been in business for over 30 years, Debbie knows what it takes to achieve happy, lifelong customers and invites your helpful suggestions and thoughts. Creating a “Softer side of Quilting” , Smoky Mountain Quilt Studio is a truly unique quilt studio where women can feel confident in high quality and service.
We look forward to hearing from you and helping you keep your memories alive forever!
