Quilting Classes !!
Here at Knoxville’s Smoky Mountain Quilt Studio, our philosophy is reminiscent of what ‘quilting’ has meant for generations. We teach each other, learn from each other, share with each other and we help each other. All classes are taught once per quarter.

Beginner’s Quilting Class 1, 2, 3 !:
Do you love quilts? Have you ever thought you would like to learn how to make a quilt? Now is the time to learn! It really is as easy as 1, 2, 3 ! Explore your creativity as you learn the steps to complete a beautiful quilt! You will learn how to properly use the right quilting tools as you learn the correct procedures for cutting, sewing (piecing), and pressing the blocks into rows and into a lap size quilt with borders. Each class builds on the last and homework is involved each week between classes. Minimum number of students: 3 Max: 5
(Please read Class Policy Statement.)
Dates: Three consecutive Monday evenings, one Monday pm for quilting, one pm for binding. Total: 5 classes (Beginner Classes are on Temporary Standby until futher notice due to our quilting orders being nine weeks out.)
Time: 6:00 p.m. — 9:30 p.m.
Cost: $100.00 for all five nights.
Supplies: A 45 mm rotary cutter and blade, fabric requirements will be emailed to you upon payment and confirmation of class. Class is filling up so call now!

McKenna Ryan Applique Quilting Class #101:
McKenna has been designing her style of quilting for over ten years now at Pine Needle Designs and her quilts never age! Our quarterly classes will show you how easy it is to make her quilts — it’s like 1st grade fun all over again ! Tracing, cutting with scissors and fusing! It’s not only too much fun — it’s easy to make a gorgeous quilt! Class is limited to 8 students.
Date: Saturday (The McKenna Ryan class is on Temporary Standby until further notice due to our quilting orders being nine weeks out.)
Time: 11:00 — 2:00 pm Cost: $20.00 Supplies: Batik fabrics from your stash.

Intro. Baltimore Style (3-hour class):
This class is designed to allow you to decide if more Baltimore is for you! You will learn the basics of Baltimore style using Elly Sienkiewicz methodology. We will work on the Double Heart Block using freezer paper and needle-turned techniques. If you’ve always wanted to try Baltimore style, this is the class for you! Class is limited to 9 students.
Class Date: Saturdays (The Baltimore Intro. class is on Temporary Standby until further notice due to our quilting orders being nine weeks out.)
Time: 11:00 - 3:00 pm Cost: $25.00 Supplies: Fabrics included in price of class, list of supplies provided.

Applique, the Easy Way !
This applique is fast, fun and beautiful!! No pins, basting or mess! You will learn to use freezer paper, spray starch and a mini iron along with washable glue. The results are absolutely stunning! You don’t want to miss this ! Class is limited to 8 students. (This class is on Temporary Standby until further notice).
Class Date: Saturday, 2010
Time: 11:00 –3:00
Cost: $40.00
Supplies: Materials from your stash, supplies list available upon registration.

T-Shirt Quilt-making Class:
You will learn how to assemble a t-shirt quilt in a fast and efficient way. Class is limited to 8 students.
Class Date: Saturday ( T-shirt quilt making is on Temporary Standby until further notice)
Time: 11:00 — 2:00 pm
Cost: $25.00
Supplies list will be provided.

Smoky Mountain Quilt Studio is committed to providing a strong foundation in the basics techniques of quilting with a particular emphasis on various appliques. Future classes in needle-turned, starch & iron, and machine applique will include the works of Robert Callaham, Robyn Pandolph, P3Designs with Pearl Pereira, Piece O’ Cake Designs, and Linda Franz.
